SUNDAY SESSIONS

LA PROPHÉTIE DES GRENOUILLES (FR)
// FAMILY //
Animated film, in french, by Jacques Rémy GRIRED (2003), in partnership with the Société des Amis du musée Crozatier (duration 1h30)
Meeting at 4pm in the auditorium of the Hôtel-Dieu, entrance at the top of the cathedral steps
Humans, animals, generations and species live together on an improvised ark. Between resentment, hunger, the very nature that forces everyone to obey the law of their species, the ark is more threatened by its inhabitants than by the flood. This fable gives us a universal message about living together.

Sunday, September 16 at 4pm
> THE DIGGER
Film by Ali CHERRI (2015), subtitled in English, produced by Sharjah Art Foundation (duration 24 min)
Meeting at 4pm in the auditorium of the Hôtel-Dieu, entrance at the top of the cathedral steps
For 20 years, Sultan Zeib Khan has been protecting the Neolithic ruins of the Sharjah Desert Necropolis. This guardian seems to be part of a landscape that surpasses him while requiring his help. He works daily to prevent… ruins from “falling into ruins”.
> STONES AND FLIES, RICHARD LONG IN THE SAHARA
Documentary by Philip HAAS (1998)
(Duration 38 min.)
In 1987, Philip HAAS accompanied the sculptor Richard LONG in the Algerian Sahara. This one explains his approach around the land art. He travels the world on foot and installs his ephemeral works of stone and driftwood, in places that are often inaccessible to the public. He thus made walking an art and land art an aspiration of modern man to solitude in nature.
